Abstract

The article overviews in terms of the ideas of aleatory and identity the phenomenon of the architecture of the new capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Nur-Sultan city. The authors consider the conception of place identity, identified in the ideas of the architectural objects in the NurSultan city, to be ideologically dominant. The authors also conclude that there will be no “eternal” urban-planning solutions, architectural dominants, but a competition of architectural types, freedom to interpret connections, and cultural pluralism in the new capital. The ideas of co-creation and personal responsibility for new architectural and conceptual solutions in the context of open regionalism, identity, and aleatory capture more and more people.
