Azerbaijan carpet art in the context of traditions and modernity

Abstract

The pearl of Azerbaijan’s decorative and applied art is considered to be carpet art, which has centuriesold traditions. The value of Azerbaijani carpets in the diversity of their composition and the richness of the motifs of decorative and ornamental decoration. Carpet art, which has made a huge contribution to the world culture, is experiencing a new period of development at the present stage of development, characterized by innovative searches in connection with modern aesthetic requirements. The artistic originality of the carpet weaving of the last several decades is expressed in the development of it in the form of art, based on the work of many professional artists on the carpet, and the form of the artistic craft represented by carpets of folk craftsmen. The source for the creative beginning of these two forms is the traditional methods embodied in classical carpets.
