Abstract

The article is devoted to one of the urgent problems of the Azerbaijan archeology, the semantics of the zoomorphic and anthropomorphic products,on their role in the life and culture of the people. These archaeological materials are also of great interest from the ethnographic viewpoint.The artifacts revealed during the archaeological excavations in various regions of Azerbaijan (Bandowan and Qirkhchiraq residential sites, Shahargah (Kurdamir), Torpaqqala (Beyimli village of Aghsu district), the Museum of History and Regional Ethnography in Hajigabul district was drawn to the investigation. Vessels and figures with zoomorphic and anthropomorphic images along with high craft skillsare very valuable in terms of being the samplesof art and craft. And this shows the high level of the ancient craftsmanship in Azerbaijan.
