ON BURIAL TRADITIONS IN AZERBAIJAN IN EARLY MEDIEVAL

Abstract

As the funeral traditions reflect the ideology of society, religious outlook the structure of the graves, the position of the buried skeletons and burial equipment make clear individual’s belief and social, economic and cultural level of society respectively. In that respect research of Caucasian Albanian Christian graves are crucial. Generally, Christian graves are divided into several groups due to structure and the position of the buried skeletons. Meanwhile, investigation of the funeral traditions allows revealing the social situation of that period of the history. Quality and quantity of burial equipment make clear it.
