FROM THE HISTORY OF COTTON-GROWING IN IRAVANGUBERNIA (PROVINCE) (1860-1917 years)

Abstract

The article is dedicated to the development of cotton-growing in Iravan gubernia. After the invasion, until early 1860 Russia did not pay attention to the development of cotton-growing in Iravangubernia. It met its cotton fabric industry's demand at the expense of American cottonexported to the European markets. However, with the suspension of cotton exports in connection of the civil war in the United States Russian manufacturer began to pay attention to Azerbaijan cotton. The article traced the stages of development of cotton growing in Iravan in 1860-1917, based on the sources, the quantity of collected cotton and its sale price isshown.
