COMPONENTS OF THE AZERBAIJAN HOSPITALITY

Abstract

We consider the traditions of the hospitality of Azerbaijan people in this article. Authors give general description of basic elements of these traditions and compare today and early traditions. Accent to the fact that hospitality is the important index of quality of services, the concept, which relates to the quality of culture, is made. Opens up features such as the hospitality and friendliness, respect for the traditions and customs of their ancestors. Hospitality is one of Azerbaijan features. Hospitality has a long history, one that is inherent in all nations of the world. Like other traditions of each nation it has its own traditions of hospitality and visiting. The hospitality with the roots going backward to the period of primitive communal tribe, at that time are done to the people, travelers lost their way, those in need of spending of night and seeking protection. At that time, there was no contact with the outside world, so every person coming to tribe is accepted with respect as the herald of news. As a result of long joint cultural development of neighboring peoples there were original ethics and culture of hospitality differed in details but at the same time they had common features in customs. Along with other customs, each nation had its peculiar ceremonies of hospitality, the rules of having guests and visiting friends. Azerbaijanis since ancient times have had very interesting and instructive customs of hospitality, which also fit contemporary life as well. Hospitality is analyzed as the universal ethical principle. It is discussed in the social and in the personal aspects. It is shown how archetypical samples and standards of ethical conduct are explained through hospitality, and the hospitality stands as one of the ethical virtues.
