ON SOME ISSUES OF THE ETHNO-CULTURAL RELATIONS OF AZERBAIJAN AND DAGESTAN IN THE XIX AND EARLY XX CENTURIES

Abstract

The history of ethno-cultural relations, between the nations of Azerbaijan and Dagestan, goes back to the ancient times.This fact is certified by the typology of archaeological materials, the similarity of the form and content of the petroglyphs, the identity of the traditions of civil architecture and crafts, the general geographical range of oral folk art, especially folk epics (Kitabi Dede Gorgud, Koroghlu). Playing a role of “linga franca” of Azerbaijani language in the Caucasus, including Dagestan, implementation great maintenance of Azebaijani intellectuals in the development of education, science and literature in Dagestan also played an important role in the development of the Azerbaijan-Dagestan ethno-cultural relations.
