Gender Culture and Values in Uzbekistan: from Traditions to Modern Development

Abstract

The history of gender equality in Uzbekistan, its state in social and legal contexts is researched in the article. The evolution of views on the role of woman in Uzbek society from traditional perceptions to modern realities is analyzed, the importance of legislative initiatives and state policies in promoting gender equality is highlighted. The attention is also drawn to persistent for the issues such as inequality in education and the workplace, domestic violence, insufficient representation of women in politics, and the influence of traditional gender stereotypes.
