Semantic Analysis of Some Lexemes in the Book “Qisasi Rabguzi”

Abstract

One way to learn meanings of words is to analyze their semantic structure by dividing them into meaningful parts. Examining each sememes of multiple lexemes in semes will help to clarify their lexical meaning. Therefore, the article deals with the changes in the semantics of lexical units used in the book "Qissasi Rabguzi", known as "Qisasul-anbiyo" among Turkic nations. The paper illustrates the lexical meaning of the word changed over the years under the influence of extraternalistic and linguistic factors, and the processes of broadening and narrowing of word meanings, and acquiring new meanings found in the book. During the analysis, lexemes in the work are compared with the words in ancient Turkic and Old Turkic sources.
