Being the ancient language, the Turkish Language has a very rich vocabulary. Also, naturally it is the spoken language in the widest area of the world. The Turkish Societies which are located in different states have been in disunity on the issues that they could be in agreement. It complicates the understanding of the Turkish people one another who live in different regions of the world. The conceptions and terms related to time are just one example of this strange situation.
The Turks have been used a number of calendars. Some of them are the results of their own experiences. They have shared many of the calendars with the world which are based on the result of their life experiences. Although they invented their own calendars during their very early times, they have been used many of the foreign calendars affected by the neighbouring countries. They have also been affected by foreign languages in the naming of the time. Thus, the issue of naming the time has become an inextricable and surprising situation among Turkish Societies.
The states whose official languages are Turkish must review the names and terms related to time. They should reach a consensus on this issue by the help of a long-term planning.
