About the ancestors of Alisher Nava'i

Abstract

There is practically no authoritative information about Alisher Navai's ancestors in the sources. The poet left behind scarce information about himself. The information pre-sented in the works of his contemporaries is confusing, and in some cases there is no logical connection between them. The article provides a comparative analysis of the information from the sources of the manuscript, as well as comments on the initial views on the interac-tion of the great poet and statesman with his ancestors, the Temurids.
