Abstract

Turkish communities have been described in three broad chapters; Oguz, Kipchak and Karluk. The Oğur division, which is represented only by the Chuvash today, should also join them. The words ogur and oguz have changed from the meaning of unity to the name of certain tribes. The Turkish language has two separate written traditions, of which the Eastern Turkish tradition has continued uninterruptedly from the sixth century to the present. The meeting of the three major dialect groups Karluk, Kipchak and Oghuz was not without problems, and it can be seen that the biggest obstacles throughout the history of the language were caused by various external factors and political conflicts. In the first part of the introductory article of the tripartite meeting discussed within the scope of the project, Karluk-Kipchak relations are examined, one of the three components meeting in Turkestan, the eastern division of Oghuz, Turkmen, Khwarezm Oghuz Dialect and Khorasan Turkish are discussed in a separate article.
