Abstract

The epic “The Book of Dede Korkut”, recognized as an example of Azerbaijani folk art and literature, is a common ancient book epic of all Turkic peoples. A huge amount of research has been conducted on the genesis and historical stages of this epic, and hundreds of scientists have brought their views to life. But so far, no detailed study has been conducted on the genesis, development of the “The Book of Dede Korkut”, relating to the Interfluve of two rivers, including the territories of Uzbekistan. Historical sources, some words found in the epic, meaning the opinion of scientists who conducted research on this topic, prepared the ground for us to come to this conclusion. The article also tells about the editions of the Oghuz-Turkic epic in Uzbekistan. “The Book of Dede Korkut published in 2022 under the project of the Azerbaijani Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev in Uzbekistan, and its reissue in 2023 will also focus on the advantages and differences from other publications.
