About some words used in “Dīwān Lughāt al-Turk” and the Gunbed manuscript of “Kitabi-Dede Gorgut”

Abstract

Most of the ancient and rare words used in “Dīwān Lughāt al-Turk” (DLT) are found with some changes in the language of Azerbaijani classical poets of the Middle Ages. In the language of the Gunbed manuscript “Kitabi-Dede Gorgut” (KDG.G), similar words are also found, which have undergone some changes compared to DLT. The article analyzes the words bağdatmaq, böri, bus, çav, tün, etc. used in the DLT in a comparative aspect with the variants of these words found in the KDG.G.
