The Turkish language has two distinct written traditions. The Eastern Turkish tradition has continued uninterrupted from the sixth century to the present day. Although the convergence of the three major dialect groups, Karluk, Kipchak, and Oghuz, has not been without difficulties, it is evident that the most significant obstacles throughout the language's history were due to external factors and political conflicts. The introductory article of the tripartite meeting discusses Karluk Kipchak relations in the first part and examines the existence of Oghuz in the second part.
