Abstract

This article deals with relevant topics and issues for study in contemporary art studies, based on the Center for Islamic Civilization established in Uzbekistan. The aim of this article is to show the interconnection between practical processes that influence the development of humanities thought and in particular, art studies in Uzbekistan. The establishment of the Center for Islamic Civilization has contributed to the intensification of the study of Islamic art. So, for example, the issue of regional studies of Islamic art, in this case, the Central Asian region, is actualized. The problem of studying the foundations of Islam as a religious doctrine as a basis for research of the artistic culture of the 9th-early 20th centuries, and the problem of the relationship between science and artistic culture during this period are also becoming relevant. Much remains to be done in the study of the artistic culture of the dynasties during the Islamic period. The exhibition includes unique artifacts from prehistoric, Sogdian and Bactrian art, as well as from the Timurid, Baburid and Shaybanid and the Khanate periods. This material makes it possible to study the Central Asian art from a new perspective in the context of spiritual values, local peculiarities and the integrity of the Islamic world.
