Development of modern carpet art of Azerbaijan

Abstract

Today carpet-weaving, traditionally the one of the leading types of Azerbaijani decorative-applied arts has entered into a new stage of its development. At the present day carpet-weaving referring to the classical heritage is represented by creations of many professional carpet-weaver artists, who included novelty ideas to the development of complex, idealized art. Necessary measures are carried out by governmental authorities for improving of carpet-weaving condition at home and it relects favourable economic and social changes in the republic during last decades.
