Development of Azerbaijani architecture during independence period

Abstract

Great changes have taken place in political and social-public aspects in Azerbaijan during 25 years of independence. Purposeful works were carried out in the area of improving the image of Baku, also of regions at state level, new living and sports complexes, administrative and public buildings, big energy and industrial objects were built, hundreds kilometers of roads were built and repaired. Special attention is paid to “Green” construction in our country, new subway lines are built. The restoration and reconstruction of architectural monuments, which were included into the UNESCO’s list of cultural heritage, have become one of the most important cultural events of the period.
