The architecture of Absheron in Shamil Fatullayev-Figarov’s researches

Abstract

The article is dedicated to the formation of architectural and town-planning peculiarities of the architecture of Absheron depending on socio-economic, climatic and geographic signs in Shamil Fatullayev-Figarov’s investigations. Shamil Fatullayev has studied military, civil, memorial structures and oil magnates’ villas of the XIX-XX cc. in 24 from 39 villages of Absheron from
the model and according to archive materials. His monograph “Architecture of Absheron” as a fundamental work includes the classiication, architecturalplanning, volumetric-planning, compositional structure of architectural heritage of Absheron at the beginning of the XX century as well as the information about architects and customers of these buildings. Shamil Fatullayev is the first researcher of the architecture of the XIX-XX cc.
