Abstract

The present study aims to assess soil conditions and the productivity potential of agricultural lands in the district using remote sensing technologies. Vegetation indices, including NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) and SAVI (Soil-Adjusted Vegetation Index), were applied to satellite imagery, and GIS-based analytical maps were developed to evaluate spatial variability in vegetation cover and soil characteristics. The analysis revealed heterogeneity in vegetation density across the district, indicating variations in crop productivity. Areas affected by soil salinity and irrigation deficiencies were identified through lower index values. The results demonstrate that remote sensing tools provide reliable and cost- effective approaches for monitoring agricultural lands, optimizing irrigation management, and improving soil use efficiency. Furthermore, the findings highlight the export potential of key agricultural crops such as cotton, grains, vegetables, and fruits. The study provides a scientific basis for sustainable land management strategies and supports data-driven decision-making in precision agriculture practices.
