ORGANIZATION, ACTIVITIES AND DEVELOPMENT STAGES OF THE INSTITUTE OF MANUSCRIPTS IN AZERBAIJAN (BASED ON ARCHIVAL DOCUMENTS)

Abstract

Studying the ancient written monuments of each nation’s historical past is one of the impor-tant factors in determining its place in modern civilization. Naturally, these monuments that come from the deep layers of history gain value only when the meaning of these writings is understood and researched. Otherwise, they are merely pieces of stone, bone, or metal without any value, or parchments, canvas, leather, or paper with inscriptions on them. The study of written monuments and the training of researchers in this field is therefore extremely important from this perspective. The purpose of writing the article is to reflect the preservation of written monuments in Azer-baijan and the activities in this field.
