Abstract

In this work, the reflection and transmission spectra of solid solutions of the system (TlIn-Se2)1-x(TlInS2)x (x=0; 0.05; 0.1; 0.15; 0.2; 0.25) in the range of 190-1100 nm were measured. The studies were carried out at room temperature. Absorption spectra were constructed for solid solution samples, and the values of the forbidden band energies of the direct and indirect optical transitions were also determined using these spectra. Based on the results obtained, it was observed that as the composition of the solid solution samples increases compared to the parent crystal, the values of the width of the optical forbidden bands of the samples also increase. Also, with increasing concentrati-on, a decrease in the maxima of the absorption coefficient is observed. This indicates that, compa-red to the TlInSe2 crystal, the fundamental absorption region shifts towards the short wavelength range.
