Abstract

This article analyzes the functional role of the existing strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and China within the multipolar system of international relations. The analysis is carried out through the examination of President Ilham Aliyev’s state visit to China in 2025 and the significant strategic documents signed during this visit. The scientific findings demonstrate that Azerbaijan–China relations have already gone beyond the framework of bilateral cooperation, transforming into a model with institutional and normative significance in the global balance of power. The novelty of the article lies in the fact that, for the first time, these relations are interpreted as a model of multilateral adaptation that generates synergy. In terms of practical relevance, these relations establish a sustainable cooperation platform in areas such as energy security, transport and logistics, renewable energy, humanitarian diplomacy, and the supremacy of international law. The mutual support of territorial integrity by China and Azerbaijan, as well as their alignment in multilateral diplomacy, constitutes the main pillar ensuring the depth and stability of these relations.
