The article is devoted to a comprehensive study of participation of Azerbaijan in the TEMPUS and Erasmus Mundus programs of the European Union. As is known, from the beginning of Azerbaijan's cooperation with the European Union until recent years, our state has been a participant in many programs and projects of the Union. Our country has joined the TACIS, TRACECA, INOGATE, TEMPUS and Erasmus Mundus programs and has become one of the main participants in these programs. Azerbaijan's cooperation with the European Union in the field of education is based on the TEMPUS and Erasmus Mundus programs implemented within the TACIS program. Research shows that using the opportunities of the TEMPUS and Erasmus Mundus programs in our country can further contribute to the development of our education. Today these programs are being replaced by the Erasmus+ program. This program, run by the Education, Audiovisual and Cultural Executive Agency and national agencies in each of the 33 program countries, offers a wide range of opportunities to advance education not only in theory but also in
practice. In today's modern education system, which is facing new challenges, closer cooperation between universities is of great importance, and we can be sure that the EU educational programs will give positive results in this direction. Participation in these programs will also be important in terms of creating a national network aimed at promoting increased mobility in education.
