STUDY OF TRADITIONS OF MULTICULTURALISM IN GANJA CITY BASED ON HISTORICAL AND ETHNOGRAPHIC SOURCES

Abstract

In this research, significance of tolerance culture was studied in investigation of multicultural values in Ganja city, which has an ancient and rich historical past, as well as in the formation and preservation of the traditions of a culture of peaceful coexistence – tolerance based on study of historical-ethnographic sources, also archival documents. Basic characteristic features of the formation and development of multiculturalism, tolerant values over the centuries in ancient quarters of city were also investigated based on academic approach. Referring to various historical sources, the importance of material culture, architectural monuments, ancient Islamic and non-Muslim religious buildings, that have survived in Ganja to this day has been studied and significance of centuries-old multicultural traditions have been revealed.
