The studies were conducted on the example of radiolysis of a mixture of paraffin / olefin system at different concentrations. The kinetics of the processes were studied at room temperature, the dose rate at P = 0.07 Gy / s, the absorbed dose at D = 27-78 kGy, the change in iodine content in the binary composition of olefins at 5, 10, 20 and 40% concentrations. The study of radiolysis of
hydrocarbon mixtures allows todraw conclusions about the nature, relative speed and resulting products of the main radiation chemical processes.Irreversible changes in the properties of organic fuels depend on the absorbed dose, temperature and continue after irradiation, causing the chemical conversion of molecules. The most characteristic reactions of alkenes are explained by the high reactivity of the double bond. Radiation of alkenes causes polymerization reactions. During radiolysis of alkanes, the yield of some products does not depend on the dose, and with increasing dose they may increase or decrease. These deductions are due to the occurrence of secondary reactions of unsaturated hydrocarbons accumulated during radiation. The stability of fuels is determined by the composition of unstable products in them - the value of iodine and the value of real resins.
