REVISION OF THE COLLECTION OF THE GENUS ALNUS IN THE HERBARIUM FUND OF THE INSTITUTE OF BOTANY OF ANAS

In the presented research work, using the data of "Flora of Azerbaijan", "Flora of the USSR" and other literary sources, an analysis of the history of study and geographical distribution of the genus Alnus (Betulaceae Gray) was carried out. A result of the analysis of literature data and the inventory of 134 specimens of the genus stored in the Herbarium Fund of the Institute of Botany of ANAS (BAK) showed that in Azerbaijan there are 3 species - Caucasian alder (Alnus subcordata), gray alder (Alnus incana) and bearded alder (Alnus glutinosa subsp. barbata), of which one species (A. subcordata) is included in the Red Book of Azerbaijan with Vulnerable (VU) status. Based on herbarium specimens, maps were also drawn up, reflecting the distribution area of these species in Azerbaijan.
