CURRENT SITUATION OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL TOURISM IN AZERBAIJAN

Abstract

Human travel is classified into different branches depending on the type of tourism. Tourists traveling around the world usually choose a unique tour program, receive a package suitable for that type, and regularly plan in advance. Although the majority of domestic tourism and outbound tourism participants in Azerbaijan choose recreational, beach, cultural, medical and health tourism, this has developed in a completely different trend in the world. There are also types of tourism in our country, which are partially underdeveloped and have a weaker participation of citizens. At present, the development of a number of additional types of tourism at the international level has become the main goal in order to make a difference. This is mainly done by countries with better tourism development. Such types of tourism include gourmet, adventure, extreme, speliotourism, archeology and etc. Although there are enough opportunities for the development of archeological tourism in the country, their use is very rare.
