The significance of studying archaeological sites in the fields of oil and gas pipeline routes, buildings and oil terminals is very important in Azerbaijan. The application of these methods in our country can extend search opportunities for archaeologists, on the other hand, it could help to take into account the existing archeological monuments in the area and suggest possible adjustments for the planning stage of the industrial operations and help to take preventive measures. A series of geophysical methods have been tested in order to develop the techniques of nearsurface geophysics for the discovery and initial investigation of archaeological monuments in Yardımlı. The sensitivity of archeo-geophysical methods used to detect various types of objects was taken into the consideration and the reliability of the results was examined on the Yardımlı archeological monument and the three-dimensional space and time models of the archeological objects were compiled. High-precision leveling has been applied to identify the relief of the area as well as high-precision gravity field measurements was performed for the determination of possible archeological sites (cavities, fractures, etc.), natural background radioactivity and the detection of associated anomalies were performed by the pedestrian gamma-ray surveying.
