In modern times, social media platforms, especially social networks, have an important place in people's lives. Social networks allow the exchange of information from different locations and over long distances in a short time. Thanks to social networks, a new form of communication such as "virtual communication" has emerged. A virtual personality is formed in modern people through a virtual society with a qualitatively different structure, abilities and functions. Social networks are currently the most focused social media platform. Instagram is a social media platform (social network) that has a large number of users, especially among young people, in recent years. In the July 2022 report, it was determined that it has 2 billion active users. The Instagram social network has recently been studied as a research topic in a number of scientific fields. Basically, in psychological research, topics such as virtual identity, "virtual self" image, personality disorders in social networks are in question. People with personality disorders have similar behavioral responses on Instagram, and all social networks in general are also likely to cause personality disorders. In other words, in the example of the Instagram social network, other social networks can create identity disorders in young people and deepen existing disorders. Since this direction is new as a research subject, there is still not enough scientific information available. Since Instagram as a social network has been widely used in the last 10 years, scientific and psychological studies that have not been completed and adequately studied in this short time continue. The integration of technological innovations into the age of technology shows that research in this direction will be investigated as a current issue for many years.
