    Abstract

Based on historical facts, we can say that the territory of our country is often exposed to the threat of floods. In our republic, especially in the Yevlakh-Neftchala zone along the Kura River coast, this emergency is more evident. In general, the Yevlakh-Neftchala zone along the Kura River coast is known as the area most affected by floods and overflows. The population of this area is more than 1.8 million people. There is a constant threat of overflow and flood in these areas with more than 700 settlements. For this reason, it is appropriate to take those areas as research areas. Just as the causes of floods are different, their damages cover different (economic, social, ecological, etc.) areas. In order to protect the safety and social welfare of the population living in those areas, the measures to be taken to manage the risk of flooding should be determined. Also, this will have a great impact on the country's economic development (especially the non-oil sector). In the article, the cases of inundation in the Yevlakh-Neftchala area along the Kura River coast, taken as the research area, were investigated, and the economic damage and ecological damage caused to settlements, agricultural fields and farms were evaluated and analyzed.
