Abstract

The article is dedicated to the discovery of the M.chitwoodi species in potatoes in the Ganja Gazakh economic region for the first time in Azerbaijan, the biology and morphology of the species and the study of the damage it causes to the plant. Infection with M.Chitwoodi s species was detected in 114 samples (total of 245 nematodes) taken from various organs and soil around the roots of 239 potato plants studied in different areas of Ganja-Kazakh economic region. So that, the high extent of invasion is in Gadabey-Tovuz (50.9-51.7%), Dashkasan-Goygol (47,7-48,5%) regions; relatively weak extensiveness was recorded in Samukh. In general, the infection with M. Chitwoodi nematode species in the sample taken from potatoes in the research areas
was 47,7%. The high intensity of invasion is Tovuz (1-25), Gadabey (2-22), Goygol (2-15); relatively
üeak intensity üas recorded in Dashkasan (1-14), Samukh (2-11) regions.
