Grapes are an important fruit crop in most countries of the world. Thus, although many grapebased food products can be found in the markets, studies have shown that an average of 75 percent of the world's grape production is intended for the wine industry. Grape pomace is considered an abundant byproduct of the wine industry. Thus, grape pomace consists of skin, seed, and branch parts and makes up an average of 25 percent of the total weight of grapes used in winemaking industrial processes. In countries where the production of wine industry is more important, for example, in countries such as Italy, France and Spain, the annual production of grape pomace can reach an average of 1200 tons per year. Waste minimization policies are needed to achieve a sustainable winemaking process in wine-growing countries. A number of studies are investigating this topic using grape pomace as a source of healthy and technological compounds that can be used to improve stability and nutritional properties in the animal feed, pharmaceutical, cosmetic or food industries and the oil obtained from grape seeds, which is part of grape pomade, is widely used in the cosmetics industry. The purpose of this study is to approach the benefits of implementing a rational waste management policy in wine production, and to compare existing production technologies in grape pomace, as well as a wide range of alternative uses
