Abstract

Idealized cognitive models are completed with the abilities belonging to a human cognition such as perception, experience, understanding, etc. The creation of these models is due to the processes of human cognition. Some types of cognitive models condense broad concepts. Some types expand the meaning and stimulate the creation of different concepts. Each of the idealized cognitive models can act as a concept creator. These concepts can be presented in a more systematic way through image schemas. The study deals with the concept-building nature of idealized cognitive models, as well as one of its types, image schemes. The image schemes themselves consist of different models. Each model is capable of creating a different concept. The article shows concepts that can arise according to certain schemes. Concept-building features of idealized cognitive models such as metaphors, metonymy, and mental spaces are noted in the article. The theories on which image schemes are based are studied in the research too.
