Abstract

Regarding the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, it should be noted that the Iranian state did not show such a consistent, principled and insistent position in mediating in this area. Thus, in accordance with modern international law, the Islamic Republic of Iran, had to ensure the maintenance of peace and stability in the region, and at the same time express its position against the occupation policy of the Republic of Armenia.
The Islamic Republic of Iran tried to take into account both its political, economic, geostrategic interests and the interests of the countries of the region in formulating its position on the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh. At the same time, although the Iranian state officially recognizes the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan, it pursued a policy in accordance with its national interests, manipulating the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
