Transfer of Cultural Information Through Lexis (Based on materials from Turkish and Gagauz languages)

Language, which plays an important role in the creation of cultural patterns, also serves to pass them on to the future generations. In the study of the culture of any nation, the study of its language is of great importance, as the cultural elements are reflected in the language in a fixed form.
In this article the focus of research is the word “spirit”, which having very broad meaning it is given different explanations in religion and philosophy. Its cultural aspects of both in Turkish and Gagauz languages are defined, and information about its cultural and cognitive features has been provided. The word “spirit” has linguocultural features such as spirituality, inner world, essence, vitality, psychological state, mood, and so on.
In terms of richness of expression, of course, the Turkish language has a superior position. Thus, the information about the linguistic consciousness of the peoples expands and the ethno-creative power of language is felt.
