Arabic-Persian Origin Words in Yunus Amra’s Divan

At a certain stage of the historical development of the Turkish language, some of the words of Turkish origin were replaced by Arabic-Persian words, and then the majority of the borrowing words again were replaced with their Turkish equivalents. The main subject of the present article is firstly to study this process and secondly the Arabic-Persian borrowings in the Yunus Amra’s divan. Words of Arabic origin that we encounter in Yunus Amra's divan are mainly related to religious concepts or abstract concepts. Words of Persian origin appear mostly in adverbial combinations.
