Abstract

The Turkish emigration literature, which has appeared in Germany since the second half of the 20th century, brought a new phenomenon to German literature. This is intercultural, immigrant, multicultural, and what we call "emigration" literature.
Literature of emigration in Germany generaly made important contributions to the enrich-ment of German literature from different perspectives such as real life, clash of cultures, and literary and documentary works written on social issues. Today, when we think of emigration literature in Germany, the first thing that comes to mind is Turkish emigration literature. It is more convenient to conduct research in the literary field related to Turkish immigrant culture and literature than other minorities. Although there is a certain amount of material for the Italian region, the literary works of the Turkish region are the majority. The fact that the Turkish immigrants were a majority in terms of numbers and, at the same time, actively lived and preserved cultural differences and cultural cha-racteristics had an impact on German society.
The article defines some aspects of the reception of Turkish immigrant literature in Germany. The stages and characteristics of Turkish emigration literature in Germany are analysed here. At first, Turkish immigrant writers wrote mainly in Turkish, but later they also produce works in Ger-man. Works written in Turkish are translated into German and published. These works are diverse in terms of poetry, prose, narrative and satire. The article examines the important role of Turkish immigrant writers in the creation and development of the concept of immigrant literature in Ger-many, and determines how much they contributed to the enrichment of German literature. Antholo-gies, scientific articles and studies published in Germany are also taken into account.
