Structures of Color Names Developed in the "Duivan" of Qatran Tabrizi

This article analyzes the names of colors along with their corresponding structural classifications employed in the "Divan" by Qatran Tabrizi, a poet from the 11th century. Even the "Divan" of Qatran Tabrizi can be called a valuable source for most of the color names used in Persian in the 11th century. In terms of frequency, red, yellow, black, and green colors are often encountered in "Divan." It is known that each color has its own meaning. The poet expresses anger, fear, love, etc. with the help of colors. In this article, the colors used in "Divan" are divided into three parts in terms of structure: simple, adjustment, and complex.
