Haji Mirza Salim Akhundzadeh’s activity as the representative of Lankaran in the Parliament of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR)

Abstract

The founders of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic – the leading intellectuals and educators of the Azerbaijani people – have made significant efforts to ensure the overall progress of the na-tion, the formation of a democratic society and strengthening of the socio-political basis of the in-dependent state. One of the actual activist in this direction is Haji Mirza Salim Akhundzadeh – one of the members of the Muslim faction of the Transcaucasian Seym, one of the signatories to the Declaration of Independence of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the representative of the Lanka-ran in ADR Parliament. The article investigates Haji Mirza Salim Akhundzadeh’s life, and his ac-tivity before and in the parliament of the ADR.
