Denominational factors in relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Persian Gulf countries: History and modernity

In the article, the author using the example of numerous examples, analyzed the Iranian policy in the Persian Gulf region in the context of its concept of “exporting the Islamic revolution” after the 1979 revolution. Separately, Iran’s relations with each country in the region are examined with an emphasis on Tehran’s interaction with Shia groups and communities living in these states. By identifying the general patterns, as well as the author’s differences, certain predictions have been expressed and appropriate conclusions have been drawn regarding the prospects for Iran’s future use of various Shia groups in its Persian Gulf countries for its geopolitical goals.
