Ghazal in the works of Badr Shirvani

Abstract

Badr Shirvani entered the history of Azerbaijani literature of the 15th century as a representative of panegyric poetry. Most of his divan numbering 12 thousand baits is made up of qasidas. However, in the field of ghazal, the poet demonstrated extraordinary skill. The article analyzes the ideological and thematic basis of the Badr ghazals, their artistic features and also determines the place of the poet’s ghazals in the lyric poetry of the 15th century.
