The maximal groups of motions of the Minkowski, de Sitter, and anti-de Sitter spacetime are the Poincar´e group, the inhomogeneous Lorentz group, and the de Sitter groups of the first and second kind, respectively. It has been proven that these groups are subgroups of the conformal group locally and globally.
