    Abstract

Cosmic dust particles of micrometer and nanometer sizes can luminesce in the optical range of the spectrum under the influence of electromagnetic radiation and electron and proton fluxes. We have suggested that the luminescence of cosmic dust particles may have impact on the spatial position of these small particles. We have shown that the time–constant process of absorption of UV photons by a cosmic crystalline dust particles followed by the re-emission of luminescent photons, will cause the movement of such particles of dust in the opposite direction - luminescent thrust. In the spatial system the star – small particle – ground-based observer, where star, small particle and observer are located on one and the same straight line, the luminescent recoil can lead to its distancing from the star. For the case of diamond nano-dust particles of various sizes, we calculated the velocities of their movement taking into account the contribution of the luminescent recoil. The results of calculations are provided. For variously dispersed crystalline dust particles of different chemical and mineralogical composition, we have considered also various aspects and patterns of their interaction with external factors and forces in the context of the phenomenon of luminescent recoil. In fact, we have shown that in addition to light pressure, the movement of cosmic dust particles can also be caused by the phenomenon of luminescent recoil.
