Abstract

In literary language, these forms are also considered ideographic or textual synonyms. In the language of the examined monuments and other classical works, it is possible to observe the formation of synonym pairs, and sometimes triplets, consisting of lexical units with different explanations that are brought closer to each other in meaning. Essentially, these words converge in meaning within the text or context, serving to convey the content the author intends to express.

We are discussing diachronic and triple synonyms. Such lexical units in the text or speech create potential expressions alongside other words. If we look at the sources of the period, we can see that a certain portion of the words that formed synonymic series became active and acquired new meanings during the historical development of the language, while another portion became passive and continued to be used in a more limited manner.

In synonymic rows, alongside native Azerbaijani words, borrowed Arabic and Persian words also participated. Both the speakers of these languages and the authors who wrote in all three of these languages made extensive use of collections of words that retained their synonymic qualities.
