Linguistic aspects of the future tense category in english

Summary
This article is devoted to the study of modal and temporal meanings of the future tense in modern English. Here, various opinions of researchers are analyzed and the author’s position is put forward regarding the status of the category of the future tense. As a result of the research, it turns out that the temporal meaning of the future tense is the basis for the emergence of modal shades of the meaning of the future tense - the same for all means of semantic expression of the future tense.
