Expression forms of negation in turkmen languages (based on turkmen language materials)

Abstract

As we know, language has many grammatical categories. One of the categories that occupies an important place in the structure of the language is the category of negation. The means of expression of the category of negation are rich, and the scope is quite wide. Although negation as a linguistic category began to be studied in the 19th century, it has not lost its relevance to this day. The broader study of the negation category in Turkmen linguistics and Turkology in general dates back to the 20th century.

The article is devoted to the category of negation in the Turkmen language, which belongs to the Oghuz group of Turkic languages. Although the means of expression of the negation category in the Turkmen language differ from other Turkic languages, the concept of negation in this language does not deviate from the general regularity. In this study, different cases and tenses of verbs in the Turkmen language are examined. Different forms of denial will be discussed.
