Borrowing everyday vocabulary source of language enrichment

Abstract

Borrowing words from another language is considered as one of the most important sources of enrichment in colloquial common lexis. Political, cultural, and socio-economic development of Azerbaijan society enriched lexis of Azerbaijan language with borrowed words which lead to the emergence of a special segment - colloquial common lexis. The overwhelming number of words was borrowed by Azerbaijan language from English, French, German, Green, and Latin languages via Russian language. Such words could be grouped into three broad categories: terms for household items; terms for kitchen items; and terms for dress and apparel.
