Abstract

In the article, the logical-functional features of terms and concepts in the compilation of terminological dictionaries were investigated. The rapid development of modern sciences results in the emergence of new research directions. The development of new scientific directions expands the boundaries of the fields of use of terms. Therefore, the compiled dictionaries should reflect the general level of development of science and technology and should be adapted to it. It should be taken into account that the term is a functional unit of scientific language. Definition of the term is the main direction of philosophy, linguistics, semiotics, informatics and other fields of science. A term is always a part of a semantic whole. Taking this into account, it is important to determine the relationship between terms and concepts in the compilation of dictionaries. The concept is determined by determining general and specific signs that appear as objects and concepts and their characteristics in a generalized form, and expresses the relations between these objects. The main methods of forming concepts about objects and concepts in objective reality are abstraction, generalization, comparison and definition.
