Abstract

The focus of the article is on three contact languages: English as a donor language, German as a target language and Azerbaijani as a native language. In these genetically unrelated languages, one can observe many borrowings and foreign words from other languages, among which Anglicisms occupy a special place. Some of these anglicisms, depending on the time of their borrowing, are not fully assimilated and remain as semi-borrowed words. The intensive penetration of anglicisms in the process of globalization into the German and Azerbaijani languages, the study of the problems associated with the emergence and development of anglicisms in these languages, constitute the content of the article.
